Hello, I am Alexander Dolin, an experienced and compassionate Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) with a deep passion for mental health counseling and ministry. Over the past two decades, I have been actively serving in various ministry roles as an ordained minister, fostering my empathy and care for people from all walks of life.
My journey in the counseling field began with a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling, where I honed my skills to provide individual counseling that addresses a wide range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
As an LPCC-S, I take pride in offering guidance, mentorship, and feedback to counseling professionals on their path to licensure, helping them develop their therapeutic skills and uphold ethical practices. I want to help religious leaders who provide mental health care in these areas.
My ministry involvement includes roles in preaching/teaching, elder leadership, worship band, youth leadership, and outreach direction at a collegiate level. Through-out this journey I've learned the importance of a holistic approach to care, a person is body, mind, and soul. I integrate spiritual and therapeutic methodologies, allowing me to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions while providing guidance and support.
I have specialized in trauma-informed care, I utilize evidence-based approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate healing in clients who have experienced trauma. These are the core modalities, but I draw from many others, when appropriate. I love learning. I have been a adjunct professor at Ohio Christian University and am currently a PhD student at Walden. I also hold a Masters in Divinity, Masters in Religious Education, and a Masters in Arts of Religion: Biblical Studies.
Additionally, I emphasize the significance of mindfulness and self-care, guiding clients in cultivating self-awareness, stress reduction, and overall well-being. One of my core values is cultural competence and inclusivity. I take pride in providing counseling that respects the unique values, beliefs, and experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout my career, I've achieved positive outcomes by empowering numerous clients to embrace personal growth, develop effective coping strategies, and enhance their overall well-being. I've conducted groups or workshops on stress management, anger management, self-care, and resilience for community organizations, empowering individuals to take control of their mental health.
I am committed to continuous professional development, attending conferences, workshops, and trainings to stay updated with the latest advancements in the counseling field. As a counselor, I approach each client with empathy, warmth, and a genuine desire to help. Establishing strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and confidentiality is at the core of my practice, and I'm dedicated to supporting clients in their journey towards healing and growth.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I look forward to working together and being a partner in your personal journey of self-discovery and well-being.
